LG announced the new LG Gate solution that will make its Android smartphones and tablets more secure, enabling BYOD uses in organizations. The solution will encrypt the data stored locally on device, safeguarding both personal and business information, which can coexist on the phone in two different containers. In addition, secure VPN support also comes included as well as support for mobile device management (MDM) to allow IT administrators to remotely access, tweak and delete data.
It's unclear when LG Gate will be available but the chances are its launch will coincide with the availability of the company's LG G2 flagship smartphone.
Meanwhile, Samsung is offering a similar solution called Samsung Knox, which even got an approval from the U.S. Department of Defense.
